New Dress Project

Well I have been avoiding sewing since November last year, and last night I got the sewing bug renewed. I began on another 1880's outfit.

This one to be precise. I drafted up and cut out the foundation skirt last night. I have not decided on colours, so any input would be awesome!

Pictures will follow soon, now that I am sewing in daylight hours :)

Do what you can, with what you have, where you are...

First things first. None of the photos to follow are owned by me. I am sharing these thanks to the completely inspiring, funny and AMAZING women. Kendi from Kendi Everyday and Katy fromKansas Couture. I hope they don't mind me posting these pictures, as they have been truly inspiring in helping me get dressed each day.

Link Love: March 3, 2011

*Link Love covers a variety of topics: style, food, photography. Basically whatever strikes my fancy during the week. Enjoy!* (Idea taken fromhttp://smilesgowitheverything.com/)
  • Smile, breathe and go slowly. Leo at Zen Habits is all about finding simplicity in the chaos of life.
  • Bea at La Tartine Gourmande is a food stylist and photographer who's blog continues to inspire me daily.
  • And something a little more vintage the girls at La Ville Inconnnue are too cute to leave out of this episode of Link Love. They are everything I wished I was at their age. Smart, funny, cute, fashion conscious and of course FAMOUS :)

The house before....

A picture tells a thousand words, so I will let these do the talking. Current pictures coming tomorrow in another post :)

Mirror Makeover

Well today started slowly, after our car broke down late last night, but this morning we got stuck straight into the renovations and makeover jobs. After a productive trip to Bunning's we managed to get the bathroom's siliconing finished, the gap between the walk through robe tiles and the bedroom floor boards caulked.

Then my fun began, my mum gave me a full length mirror when we moved in that was, well lets just say it didn't match :) I scrounged around the shed and found a can of paint called "Onyx Lustre" and it looked to be a gorgeous charcoal colour, so I went for it. Here is the makeover.

Advice

Old car number plates. Does anyone have any ideas on turning them into a piece of artwork?
Here is what I am working with.

Well Hello There...

We have moved. Lucas and I are now settled (as much as possible) in the new house. It is so big and shiny and awesome. My darling brother owns it, and we are renting off him and assisting with the last of the renovations. I will update later today with some before and after photos of the house. It still has a lot to be done but I am excited for the coming year and all our adventures in the house. We are yet to set a house warming date, but I feel it will be later this month. We can paint walls, hang artwork, plant a vegie garden and OMG the walk through wardrobe is HUGE!!!

Over and Out,

M
